About this cruise
The Rijksmuseum is the Netherlands’ national museum and one of the most important art museums in the world. Our skip-the-line tickets guarantee direct entry to the museum, bypassing the often lengthy queues that can stretch around the building, especially in peak season.
The museum houses over 8,000 objects of art and history spanning 800 years, from medieval relics to modern masterpieces. The undisputed star is Rembrandt’s The Night Watch, the largest and most famous painting in the collection, displayed in its own specially designed gallery. Other highlights include Vermeer’s The Milkmaid, Frans Hals’ The Merry Drinker, and an extraordinary collection of Delftware pottery.
The building itself is a masterpiece of Dutch Renaissance Revival architecture, designed by Pierre Cuypers and opened in 1885. A major renovation completed in 2013 restored the building to its original grandeur while adding modern amenities. The Great Hall, with its soaring arches and stained glass, is worth the visit alone.
The Rijksmuseum’s gardens are free to enter and feature a sculpture gallery, fountains, and one of Amsterdam’s most photographed views — the I Amsterdam letters (though these have been relocated, the garden vista remains stunning).
Plan to spend 2–3 hours to see the highlights, or half a day for a thorough visit. The museum’s app provides excellent free audio tours in multiple languages. The cafe and restaurant offer quality Dutch cuisine with views of the garden.
Our tickets include a specific time slot to manage visitor flow. We recommend the first morning slot for the quietest experience and the best light on the paintings.
