ADAM Lookout offers the best panoramic views of Amsterdam from the 20th floor of the iconic ADAM Tower, located directly across the IJ river from Central Station. A free ferry ride connects the station to the tower in just 2 minutes, making ADAM Lookout one of the most accessible viewpoints in the city.
The observation deck provides 360-degree views through floor-to-ceiling windows. On clear days, you can see far beyond Amsterdam to the surrounding countryside, the IJsselmeer lake, and the coast. Interactive screens identify the landmarks visible from each viewing angle, helping you spot the Rijksmuseum, Westerkerk, Royal Palace, and the modern skyline of Zuidas.
For thrill seekers, Over the Edge is Europe’s highest swing, suspended over the edge of the building at a height of 100 meters. The swing launches you over the Amsterdam skyline with nothing but air between you and the city below. It is a heart-pounding, unforgettable experience with incredible photo opportunities.
The Lookout also features a revolving restaurant, Moon, which completes one full rotation every hour while serving contemporary Dutch cuisine. Even if you do not dine, the bar area serves cocktails and coffee with views that rival any rooftop bar in Europe.
The tower’s industrial history adds character to the experience — it was originally the headquarters of Royal Dutch Shell, and architectural details from the 1960s remain throughout the building.
ADAM Lookout is one of the few Amsterdam attractions with virtually no queuing when you book skip-the-line tickets online. Allow 30–45 minutes for the observation deck, or longer if you ride the swing or have a drink at the bar.
